Elizabeth Kaledin (NY 1) will moderate a discussion with an all-star panel featuring Ellie Krieger (Food Network), Kate Krader (Food & Wine Magazine), John Fraser (Dovetail), Bill Telepan (Telepan), Steve Cuozzo (NY Post), Dr. Joel Fuhrman (Nutritional Medicine Expert) and Eric Goldstein (School Support Services). Topics will include healthy eating, buying local, school lunch programs, and our UWS restaurants. Continental breakfast will be served starting at 8am. All net proceeds from this event will benefit Wellness in the Schools. |

Elizabeth Kaledin, Moderator

Elizabeth Kaledin is currently the anchor of NY1 "News at 11". She also reports on special events and regularly fills in on many of the cable networks programs. She is frequently a guest host of NY1's signature political show, "Inside City Hall". This is Elizabeth's second career at NY1 News. She was also an original member of the start-up network back in 1992 when it first went on the air. At that time she was a weekend anchor and environmental reporter. After leaving New York 1 in 1994, Elizabeth made the leap to network news where she began a 13 year career at CBS News as a correspondent. Working with Dan Rather and Bob Schieffer, she covered many of the biggest national stories of the nineties. In 1999, Elizabeth was promoted to Medical Correspondent for the CBS Evening News. In this position she covered all the major medical and science issues facing the country. She is the author of the book The Morning Sickness Companion (St.Martin Press, 2003), which delves into the science of morning sickness as it details her own often comical personal experience trying to be a television reporter while suffering through months of pregnancy related nausea. She is a graduate of Vassar College and is married to Jon Dohlin, the Director of the NY Aquarium. They have 2 children, a dog, a cat, and many fish. They are proud to call the UWS their home. |

Chef John Fraser
Dovetail
As one of America’s top young chefs, John Fraser has built a reputation for his classical European technique and dedication to artisanal products and farm-fresh produce. He is one of only 23 chefs in New York to be awarded a highly-coveted three-star review from the New York Times. John has worked at French Laundry with famed chef Thomas Kelly as well as in Paris where he cooked at Taillevent and Maison Blanche. John was name one of only four young chefs to watch in America by Esquire magazine in 2006. On Feb. 20, 2008, Frank Bruni, N.Y. Times restaurant critic awarded Dovetail 3 stars. |

JOEL FUHRMAN, M.D.
Nutritional Medicine Expert
Joel Fuhrman M.D. is a board-certified family physician, nutrition researcher, best-selling author, and one of the country’s leading nutritional medicine experts.
Dr. Fuhrman is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and he is presently involved in research trials of his nutrient-rich, plant-based diet with physicians and scientists at the University of Pennsylvania health system.
Dr. Fuhrman is a co-founder and chief medical officer of Eat Right America, with the mission of bringing nutritional excellence as a primary health care intervention to America’s corporate and public workforce. Dr. Fuhrman teaches nutritional excellence is not only preventative, but is also the safest and most effective therapeutic interventions for most chronic medical conditions. Dr. Fuhrman is on the board of directors of the American Academy of Lifestyle Medicine and active in educating physicians and health professionals about nutritional medicine. His lectures have been approved for CME credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. |

Ellie Krieger

Food & Wine Magazine
Kate Krader is Restaurant Editor at Food & Wine magazine, overseeing its news, trend and restaurant coverage. Krader is responsible for Food & Wine's annual search for the Food & Wine Best New Chefs. She also is the editor of the Food & Wine Cocktails, an annual guide to the hottest cocktail recipes, the best spots and the biggest trends in nightlife and has contributed to Food & Wine's other cookbooks: the Food & Wine Annual, The Best of the Best, and its bookazines. Previously Krader has also worked in San Francisco in the gourmet department at eluxury.com, an LVMH website, and served as senior editor of Williams-Sonoma magazine, Taste. A graduate of Kenyon College in Ohio, Krader received her formal culinary training at La Varenne in Paris. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. |

Steve Cuozzo
New York Post
Steve Cuozzo joined the New York Post in 1972. He has covered commercial real estate for The Post in his Realty Check column every Tuesday since 1999, and the city's restaurant scene in his Wednesday Free Range column since 1998. He also contributes regularly to the op-ed pages, where he has closely monitored the state of progress -- or lack thereof -- at the World Trade Center site since shortly after the 9/11 attacks. His book, "It's Alive," published by Times Books in 1996, chronicled The Post's successful battle for survival in the early '90s when it foundered under previous ownership. A proud native of Brooklyn, he lives today in Manhattan. |

Chef Bill Telepan
Telepan
After graduating from CIA, Bill furthered his formal education at some of the world’s top kitchens. He apprenticed with the legendary Alain Chapel at his eponymous restaurant, a Michelin three-star in a small town outside Lyons. He also trained with Daniel Boulud at Le Cirque, Gilbert Le Coze at Le Bernardin, and spent four years as the executive chef at Gotham Bar & Grill with Alfred Portale. Bill has also written a book entitled “Inspired by Ingredients”(Simon and Shuster) to present his unique cooking style and most popular recipes. He also serves on the Chef’s Advisory Board of the Institute of Culinary Education, City Harvest’s Restaurant Board, and a board member of Wellness in the Schools. In December of 2005, he opened ‘Telepan’ at 72 W.69th Street. Telepan was voted “Best Newcomer” by the Zagat Guide for 2007. |

Eric Goldstein
School Support Services
Eric Goldstein is the Chief Executive of the Office of School Support Services. In his role as CEO, Eric manages busing and food services for over 1 million children in the City. Eric is a graduate of Jamaica High School (Queens), Cornell University (Arts and Sciences) and Oxford University (St. Antony's College). Eric is married and has two young children. |
